Once
again, we've planned for a late night rock climbing session for the
OLDER girls.
On the agenda is belay training for those who want/need it, a slice or two of pizza and drink, and LOTS of rock climbing as well as a couple of the high ropes elements.
The Skinny :
** Arrive WHEN? By 7:15pm
** Why so EARLY? To verify all the paperwork against the participants, and go through the safety check and gear up so that they can hit the walls at 8pm and get a full 3 ½ hours of climb time! (They have to do this EVERY TIME, even if you've done it before.)
** Anyone aged 12 and up is eligible to belay. They recommend no more than 3 climbers per belayer. If girls are not showing maturity/skill level, they will be asked to team or tandem belay.
** Belay training starts at 7:45pm. If you arrive after training starts, you will not be trained. You will have to pair up with another group and share belayers. This WILL cut down on the amount of time your girls have on the wall.
** Everyone needs to fill out a waiver. The girls need THEIR PARENT signature (not leader, friends mom, etc). Everyone should fill out BOTH sides, including all of the little initial boxes. They will be returned if they are not complete. All their words, not mine.
** The waivers and the $ need to be turned in to ABBY no later than Monday March 1 (Its the Service Unit meeting night, how handy!) We will be turning in all money and all waivers at a date prior to the event to avoid confusion/bottlenecking and get the girls on the walls faster.
** PLEASE, no siblings or tagalongs this year, only registered girls ages 12 and up.
